Meet your provider

Hi, I'm Tiirini. I built R3 for the women who kept getting brushed off.

I'm a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, a psychiatric nurse since 2015, and a mom of two. I specialize in women's mental health through pregnancy, postpartum and the seasons that follow, and I practice the way I wish someone had practiced for me.

Why this practice exists

This practice is personal. Before R3, I went through multiple miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy that ended in emergency surgery. Everyone checked on the surgery. Nobody checked on me. Not once did anyone ask how I was holding up mentally, and I was a psychiatric nurse at the time. If it could happen to me, I knew it was happening to women everywhere.

I also kept meeting women who had been told to stop every medication the moment they got pregnant, women handed a new prescription after a ten-minute visit, and women whose "anxiety" turned out to be something a basic lab would have caught. I saw the gap in care up close, and in 2026 I opened R3 Women's Wellness to fill it.

R3 stands for the three things I want every patient to walk away with: renewed minds, restored balance, and revived hope.

Why women's mental health

Women's mental health is shaped by biology, life stages and the roles women carry. Hormonal shifts, pregnancy, postpartum, pregnancy loss, perimenopause, and the pressure to hold everything together all leave marks that general psychiatry often misses. I chose to specialize in perinatal psychiatry because it's a critical window. The postpartum period in particular is a time when many women suffer in silence, not knowing that effective, well-studied treatment exists.

I care for women across the lifespan, and I see men and partners too, including dads navigating postpartum depression. But the heart of this practice is the woman who has been told it's "just stress," "just hormones," or "just part of being a mom."

How I practice

  • You lead, I help. Your first visit is 60 to 90 minutes so I can actually hear the whole story. You'll never be rushed, and you'll never be judged.
  • Whole picture first. Before we change anything, I look at labs, hormones, sleep, nutrition and what's happening in your life. Medication is one tool, not the only one.
  • Start low, go slow. When medication is right, we begin gently and adjust together, with monthly check-ins until you're stable.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding are not the end of your options. I practice evidence-based perinatal prescribing and coordinate with your OB or midwife so everyone is on the same page.
  • Representation matters. I'm a Black woman, a millennial and a mom. Many of my patients tell me that being able to say "you get it" without explaining is part of the medicine.

A note about faith

I'm a woman of faith, and my belief in Jesus Christ shapes the compassion, patience and hope I bring to this work. It is never a requirement for my patients. Your care is shaped around your values, not mine. If faith is part of your healing and you'd like it to be part of our conversations, I welcome that. If it isn't, you'll receive exactly the same respect and the same evidence-based care. I wrote more about how faith and treatment fit together in I love God, I go to therapy, and I take my meds.

Outside of work

You'll find me with my husband and our two kids, soaking in the everyday moments. I love fall, pumpkin spice lattes and Pilates, in roughly that order.
